Renowned scientists as well as early-career researchers received the Josef Hlávka Medals and Awards on 16 November 2025 at the Lužany Chateau near Přeštice. The ceremonial event of the Foundation of Josef, Marie and Zdeňka Hlávková, held on the eve of the Day of the Struggle for Freedom and Democracy, honoured the legacy of the philanthropist and founder of the predecessor of the Czech Academy of Sciences, whose life was devoted to supporting education, science and the arts.

On Sunday, 16 November 2025, the prestigious Josef Hlávka Award was presented at the Lužany Chateau to the young researcher RNDr. Martina Lisnerová, Ph.D. This distinction is awarded annually by the Foundation of Josef, Marie and Zdeňka Hlávková to outstanding students, graduates, and early-career scientists of the Czech Academy of Sciences.

The ceremony took place in the historic Hall of the Czech Quartet, attended by members of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, representatives of universities, and of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The programme also included a concert in the chateau chapel and the traditional gathering of the awardees.

Martina Lisnerová serves as a postdoctoral researcher in the Laboratory of Fish Protistology, which focuses on the study of microscopic aquatic parasites mostly occurring in fish.
