Figure from Our Research Featured in a Thermo Fisher Scientific Promotional Material

We are pleased to announce that an image originating from our research article published in Molecular Biology and Evolution has been included in a promotional and educational leaflet produced by Thermo Fisher Scientific, focusing on the application of electron microscopy in the life sciences.

Specifically, the image was taken from the article Sheikh S., Pánek T., Gahura O., Týč J., Záhonová K., Lukeš J., Eliáš M., Hashimi H. 2023: A novel group of dynamin-related proteins shared by eukaryotes and giant viruses is able to remodel mitochondria from within the matrix. Molecular Biology and Evolution 40: msad134. https://doi.org/10.1093/molbev/msad134

Trypanosoma brucei with altered mitochondria, caused by the overexpression of a viral protein. Image courtesy of Jiří Týč, Shaghayegh Sheikh, and Hassan Hashimi, Institute of Parasitology, Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Full experimental details can be found in Sheikh et al.

The illustration was included in the publication Electron Microscopy in Life Sciences, intended for the professional community and showcasing modern approaches and technologies in the field of electron microscopy.

We are delighted that the work of our authors, as well as visual outputs generated at the Institute of Parasitology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, have found application in international professional and outreach materials produced by a leading technology company.
