The international platform Research.com has published its Best Animal Science and Veterinary Scientists 2026 ranking, which evaluates researchers based on their publication record and citation impact in the field of Animal Science and Veterinary Sciences.

Only 20 scientists from the Czech Republic were included in this year's ranking, and nine of them are affiliated with the Institute of Parasitology of the Biology Centre CAS or maintain long-term collaborations with the institute. As a result, nearly half of all Czech researchers represented in this prestigious ranking are associated with our institute.

The ranked scientists include:

  • Jan Votýpka (2nd in the Czech Republic)
  • David Modrý (3rd in the Czech Republic)
  • Tomáš Scholz (4th in the Czech Republic)
  • Martin Kváč (5th in the Czech Republic)

Researchers are ranked according to the D-index, a discipline-specific metric that measures publication output and citation impact exclusively within the field of Animal Science and Veterinary Sciences. Only scientists meeting stringent criteria for scientific impact and disciplinary focus are eligible for inclusion.

The results are based on bibliometric data obtained from the OpenAlex and CrossRef databases and subsequently verified by the Research.com team. The 2026 ranking was compiled using data collected on 12 January 2026.
