Cooperation Agreement with The Oceans Consortium

The Oceans Consortium is a group of non-profit organizations that have the rsouresces and ablity to collect samples of novel organisms from oceans communities. The Laboratories is engaged in collaborative research therunder dealing with physico-chemical data-treatment, metagenomics, metatranscriptomics studies. 

There are two main areas in which you can to contribute to the analysis of samples collected by the Tara Oceans expeditions. 

Microscopy analysis of samples, results from the SEM analyses, could be used to:

• obtain fine resolution taxonomy
• contribute to the study of morphology and presence of a selected taxonomic group accross the oceans
• refine confocal microscopy data
• create an image atlas/dtb. of phytoplankton flora of a specific oceanic area 

Analysis of parasitic groups using sequence data

• Diplonemids and kinetoplastids
• Apicomplexans, microsporidians, parasitic helminths
• Myxozoans
• Comparing diversity and distribution of various parasitic lineages, their abundance and host-spectrum.
