● I was awarded the NIH Fellows Award for Research Excellence in Biomedical Research for two consecutive years, which places me in the top 10% of NIH intramural research fellows. I have twice been supported by an EMBO-Short-Term fellowship and selected to attend the EMBO Laboratory management course for group leaders.
● I was the first non-Czechoslovakian honoured with a Jan Evangelista Purkyně Fellowship, established by the Czech Academy of Sciences to facilitate the recruitment and integration of recognised senior investigators in the national research infrastructure. This was the first fellowship awarded to an individual at a research institution outside Prague and to a non-Czech speaker, highlighting the recognition by the Czech academia of my scientific contribution to tick-borne diseases.
