  • Vector-parasite interactions (Leishmania–Phlebotomus, Trypanosoma–Culex, etc.)
  • Molecular phylogeny of monoxenous trypanosomatids (biodiversity etc.)
  • Molecular protozoology (structure of kinetoplast DNA)
  • Blood parasites of birds (transmission, Hamilton-Zuk hypothesis)  
  • Biology and phylogeny of Apicomplexa (including manipulation hypothesis)
