Seminar by Dr. Alex Muhleip: "Molecular mechanisms of cristae formation in human parasites".

Alex is an excellent young scientist who has been trained in cryo techniques by one of the best in the field (Werner Kuhlbrandt and Alexey Amunts).

During his postdoctoral stay in Sweden, he developed his interest in parasites and in using cryo-EM techniques to study them. Recently he was awarded a Welcome Trust fellowship at the Glasgow university to develop his independent research. His project focuses on the striking remodeling of mitochondrial ultrastructure during the complex life cycle of Plasmodium parasites.

The seminar will be held at 13:00 on Tuesday 22 November 2022 in seminar room PARU II (2nd floor PARU Animal Facility), Institute of Parasitology.
