Brief Profile
Anička joined the Laboratory of Parasitic Therapy during the second year of her bachelor’s studies, where she began to specialize in the intestinal protist Blastocystis sp. Her research focused on the occurrence of this organism in non-human primates and humans in Czech zoological gardens, with an emphasis on the risk of zoonotic transmission. She successfully completed this topic during her follow-up master’s studies in Parasitology, defending her thesis and publishing a scientific article in a peer-reviewed journal. She currently works in the laboratory as a technician.
