Research interests
The researcher is interested in the study of human viral infections and the possibilities of their treatment.
The main interest is tick-borne encephalitis virus and related viruses transmitted by ticks and mosquitoes (Zika virus, West Nile fever, Chikungunya virus, Usutu virus, hemorrhagic fever viruses,...), but also other viruses that require attention, such as SARS-CoV2.
Specifically, for example, the study of the interactions of tick-borne encephalitis virus with the blood-brain barrier, neuronal damage, the inflammatory response triggered by the virus (immunopathology), antibody therapy,...
